年配の男性がボートを海に降ろし、ひとり沖にでるのを見かけた。その光景はアーネスト・ヘミングウェイの”老人と海”を思い出させた。ヘミングウェイは1951年のキューバでこの本を書き、僕が実際にキューバに行こうと思ったのはこの本がきっかけだ。本を読んで、僕もいつかは海にいる老人になるんじゃないかと思わされた。もうすでにそうなってるかな？Haha.
でも、年配の漁師たちのことはとてもリスペクトしているよ。みんな好きなことをしていて危ないことも理解してる。そして、海以外の場所では死にたくないと思ってるんだ…
