good morning. north winds? wow, it’s been a while. waves junky and stormy on the north shore. and guess what? the winds supposed to be strong north/west later this week. finally winter on the north shore. town is clean but small. good day for longboarding, or good day for sleeping. DOVE HOUSE starts tomorrow. the boys are on the way. have safe flights and see you soon…
** it’s been a while since i took video for my blog. so i thought yesterday would be a great chance, even though i was dying from a cold. it’s a hassle always running to grab my camera and try to catch the action. especially when i love to dive just as much as everybody else. i did my best with the time i had yesterday and put together a 3min clip. we were out in the ocean all day and had a blast, until i started freezing to death. but life goes on. yesterday was yesterday and today is today. enjoy….
My Video Diving Diary Yesterday….
Freezing Diving in Hawaii…
7am this morning i had 2 choices. the first one was to take medicine and go back to bed all day. the second was to fight my cold and go diving. it was hard because my mind was on diving and my body was on sleeping. i somehow dragged my ass to the kaneohe pier to meet up with kyle, james, and keith. i felt like shit but as soon as i hit the water, everything was fixed. it was me and the ocean…. yippie.. it’s been a long time and i almost forgot how good it feels to be underwater again…
so here we are pulling out of the pier. i was looking at the sky, the mountains, and the water. did you know that this is the first day since november that we had a perfect day like today? this is the east side guys. it’s usually cloudy and raining there. just ask my friend holli, she lives there. it doesn’t get any better than this…
we dove, dove, and dove. everybody caught fish today. my high school classmate keith yamane speared this big omilu and huge uhu. we had a lot of big fish in our cooler. what did i spear today? umm, couple of uhu’s, couple of roy’s, lot’s for kala’s, a huge palani, a kumu, and a good size moana kali. a nice mixed bag…
these are 2 kahala’s kyle speared. some of these fish have worms here in hawaii but if you find one that doesn’t, it taste just like hamachi…. and oh my gosh, it was so cold today. i was freezing even in my full wetsuit. towards the end of the day, i was going into shock lying down in the boat. i felt like i was naked in hokkaido or something. i felt like i was going to die. then i changed into my warm clothes and felt much better. wanted to thank kyle, james, and keith for the awesome dive today. and sorry i couldn’t help you guys clean the fish. i guess everybody’s going to have fresh fish this week!!! yippie!!!
**i took some video so stay tuned for a clip soon. i just want to say something before i sleep like a baby. i still think free diving is the best medicine for any cold. maybe i should go tomorrow again.. haha…. goodnight….
