Oakley Hawaii Bowling Party…

good morning. wow, no winds. the winds backed off. the south shore has perfect conditions right now. 7 guys out at bowls but it’s pretty small. diamond head is your best bet in town. it’s looking super clean. got some waves on the north shore too. head hight but weird morning sickness conditions. going to a halloween party this morning. then to my friends baby shower. baby shower? yeah, it’s my first time and i’ll probably be the only guy there. haha… but i’m looking forward to it… have a nice day…

i was driving to aiea yesterday evening and the clouds looked so beautiful. i wish i had my good camera. just another amazing sunset…

i was invited to a pretty cool party last night. it was the oakley party held at aiea bowling alley. imagine bowling, alcohol, all you can eat buffet, sushi bar, card table, dice table, go-go dancers, and lot’s of fun…. it was nuts…

not to mention, the lucky number prizes… sunglasses, 42′ flat screen tv, rice cookers, cel phones, ipods, barbecues, bowling balls, and even a bruce irons signed surfboard…..

yeah, there were go-go dancers dancing on tables while we were bowling. well, trying. it was a full on tournament with 5 players per every one of the 26 lanes. it’s been a while since i bowled so i had a great time…. gotta get going so more photos coming later…. wanted to congratulate oakley’s owner, and long time friend bill craig for putting on such an awesome event. i’m still buzzing….
**and wanted to take this time to say hello to nohea. he’s currently in the hospital and has been emailing me from his hospital bed. keep strong and hang in there buddy….

Honolulu Magazine: 50 Reasons to LOVE This City, Honolulu, Hawaii….

good evening. i went to my eye doctor today for a check up. my eye is still bloodshot red but he said that it might be like that for a while. my question was “when can i go back in the water”. he told me i can go in with goggles but not in the sun. so there it is. i can surf with goggles on. evening or morning session? come monday morning, i’m going dawn patrol surfing. he also said that i can go diving but not too deep. if i start feeling pressure in my eye, stop. so there it is, i’m going to be patient for 2 more days and then it’s back in the water. can’t wait…

my doctor has so many patients so i have to wait a while. in the hallway, there are these photograph/paintings all over the place. this one is called skyride, and is taken by photographer jim kastner. this is taken on the island of molokai… nice yeah? i stare at this photo every time i go there..

then i picked up the new HONOLULU MAGAZINE. this one was very interesting. 50 reasons to LOVE this city, honolulu. cool article… and they also had the private school guide for oahu. did you know that it costs $15,750/year for punahou school? did i spell that right? don’t care, i’m not from there. anyway, that’s where michelle wie, barack obama and ceri aoyama are from. ceri who? i’ll get into that later. but yeah, i’ll have to admit, punahou is a good school. i got some friends from there and their all doing pretty well. but so are my friends from kaiser high, the free school…. haha…

back to the 50 reasons to LOVE this city. #1: Bon Dances. #2: karaoke bar food #5: kikaida fans. japanese, japanese, and japanese. pretty interesting yeah? 3 of the top 5 were related to japanese. do you know what i would have chosen for the top 3? #1: the aloha spirit #2: waikiki #3: hawaii’s beautiful people…. then all that other stuff would come after…. especially kikaida fans, because i’m one of them…. [:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:]change ii change ii, go go go go…. go go go!!!!![:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:][:????$B”L(B?:]

Deep in Thailand: Forgotten…

good morning. 6:30am and the waves looking fun. waist high clean waves at bowls with only a couple of guys out. north shore looks good again with a bunch of dawn patrollers at laniakea. looks head high and super fun. sunny skies and trade winds blowing making for another day in paradise. i’m going to find out exactly how much longer i have to stay out of the water today. if my doctor tells me another week, i’m going to seriously put on my diving mask and go catch a wave this evening. might look weird but i don’t care… anyway, have a nice day…

this is my eye doctor. his name is Dr. Camara. he’s been the one taking care of my eye. it’s so weird because i see him on tv commercials, newspapers, even on the cover. is he a singer too? i’m going in for an appointment now so i’ll ask him. maybe i’ll ask him to sing me a song to make my eye feel better….

since june, my poor car hasn’t been washed. gosh, i’ve just been to busy and don’t like paying $15 for somebody else to wash it when i could do it myself. so today, i took an hour and took care of my car that has been taking care of me. it’s so clean now that i don’t even want to drive it…

i just got some new license plates for my car. don’t ask why. but they told me to throw away my old ones. gosh, i can’t throw it away. they are kind of bust up but i bet somebody in japan wouldn’t mind having some hawaii license plates. i see the all over the place in japan so i guess people collect them. if anybody wants them, let me know before these go in a box under my house forever…
**and last, i have tons of video clip dating back to march 2008. so many to post with so little time. this is a short one of my thailand trip. the more i think about it, the more i laugh. why? i just think to myself that “that guy is crazy to go where nobody speaks english and where you don’t know what the heck your eating.” that guy is me… haha….
