kewalo’s is probably the most localized spot in town. you have to be special to use the shower the boys there made. respect the locals and if you don’t, you’ll find out what happens. shun and seth knows the rules…

wanted to congratulate seth moniz for winning his division at the big nssa contest yesterday at sandy beach. i heard he got a perfect 10 and a 9.5 in the finals and took down kalani david in a close heat. in the last week, i’ve seen seth’s surfing and confidence level go up big time… go get um boy….

matchi has been riding his new fiberflex model. he wanted to test it out on the north shore and by the way he’s surfing, it look like it works really good!! i tried it too and the board is so fast and responsive. a good all around board and perfect for japan…..

shun’s been riding matchi’s boards since he started surfing for TSSC. every time i see this kid, his surfing is getting better and better. at 11 years old, shun’s got power and style. i keep on saying this but i really mean it. “shun is going to be a champion someday. someday soon”…..

surfer and shaper relationships are very important. matchi and shun have something special. they work on their equipment, go test it, and strive to make it better and better. both of them taking their skills to another level. matchi shapes some of my boards too and every time i order a board from him, i tell him, everything is up to you. he knows how i surf and i trust his hands. can’t wait for my next board. go matchi!!!
