good aloha friday evening. solid north/west swell on the way this weekend. expected to be 8-10′ by sunday. there’s a menehune contest going on tomorrow at haleiwa and i’m going to go check it out. cheer on the little kids. economy down again today. dollar trading at 99 yen/dollar. wow!! that’s pretty good for me but bad for people traveling to japan. now prices just went up 10% just by the currency rate. gas prices down. surf’s up. now i can finally afford driving to the north shore. haha.. have a great evening…
i went to the hospital again to register for my surgery. while i was sitting in the chair waiting for the doctors final check, i was honestly scared. i asked the nurse if the surgery hurts. she told me “kirby, i don’t want to lie to you, yes, it hurts”…. ouch…. why did she have to be so honest…. now i’m freaking….

can you see the fear in my eyes? i’m more comfortable 100′ under water or going over the falls on a 15′ pipeline wave. i need a drink….

and while i was sitting in the office, i was wondering what the heck is this machine. i get scared looking at it….

hello, i surfed ala moana bowls this morning. the sets were chest
high and super fun. not that crowded and the water was pretty
clean. it felt good getting back in the water here. after traveling
for the last 3 months, i realized how beautiful hawaii is…

good morning. 7:30am hawaii time. looking at bowls now and it’s pretty small. maybe some chest high sets and pretty clean. only 6 surfers out. the weather is overcast now but should be clearing up later. might have to get wet today because come monday, i won’t be surfing for a while. maybe i’ll take a trip to las vegas and gamble my life away… just joking… anyway, have a nice and safe day….

while we were in timor, andre was in sumba. he went there on a little indo boat for a week and scouted new diving grounds. he showed me what they caught and from the photos i seen, they found some good dive spots. check out that huge dog tooth tuna their holding. poke for everyone….

andre’s factory is amazing. he’s got a great team putting together custom made spearguns. all made out of top quality teak wood. whenever i go there, i feel like a kid in a candy store. and most likely, i can’t resist and buy one….

so i bought one. a new 140cm blue water gun made for big dog tooth tunas. can’t wait to use it….

and last, alyssa came by yesterday to grab some shells to make ear rings. i like talking to her because she has so much drive. drive for success….
