good news everybody!!! my sister finally found a home for lucky. her friend that lives at v-land on the north shore adopted lucky. so if you see a black pig playing in the sand and water around v-land, that’s lucky. and for you hunters out there, please stay away…. thanks for all the emails and concern about lucky. sorry i didn’t reply sooner. the reason is i didn’t know myself. i just got this email from my sister now. check out these photos…..

**a message to the new owners of lucky. lucky is a wild boar so please be patient with him. even though he eats all your food, eats your house, shits all over, and digs huge holes in your yard, please be patient. and please don’t eat him….

Sawara or "Ono" Sashimi in Japan..
good friday morning. yesterday was hot and today supposed to be hotter. and twice as humid. oh boy…. so far, it’s been such a great summer for weather but the worst for waves. everywhere the waves are flat, even in chiba. i’ve been here for almost 3 weeks and surfed head high waves once. come monday morning, i’m out of here…. just hope i can make it through the weekend… i would pay a hundred dollars right now if i could surf waist high on shore diamond head for 1 hour. and i ain’t kidding…. still no cell phone so today should be pretty peaceful. have a nice hot day!!!
the other night was sashimi/sukiyaki party!!! this is the fish kimura-san sent from wakayama. as fresh as it gets….
while i was cutting the fish, kenji was playing around with my camera. this is kenji sahara holding up his 34th beer that night… haha…
not too many japanese tried sawara or “ono” sashimi before. they usually make it nitsuke style here. i like it both ways because the meat is so oily. no matter how you prepare it, it just melts in your mouth…. oishikatta….
and last, it was pretty windy in shonan yesterday. the waves were flat but that didn’t stop this kind of surfer. lady kite surfer heading to the beach over the bridge at banyu. pretty cool…
and last last, craig sako isn’t only one of the best 5 star chefs in hawaii, he’s also one talented artist. check out the menpachi on his board. sick.. maybe i’ll have him draw kalua on my next board when i get back to hawaii. thanks craig….
