good morning. how’s the waves? don’t ask me. i didn’t and won’t check because i think i have to stay indoors today. i’m totally burnt out on surfing and totally sunburnt. drink a lot of water, and catch up on things indoors. that’s what i’m doing on this beautiful sunny day. if i checked the waves, i’ll probably get tempted to go surf. anyway, let me know how it was… have a nice day…

diving can be dangerous. you don’t only have to worry about shark attacks, shallow water blackouts, currents, and other freaks of nature. you also have to worry about small things, like stabbing yourself in the arm with a razor sharp knife. see, when we spear a fish, we take our dive knife out and stick it in the head of the fish to kill it. to stop the fish from kicking around setting off vibrations that invite sharks. this day, shawn was helping kyle kill his 30lbs ulua to stop the sharks from coming around. 2 things went wrong. he slipped and stabbed himself deep into his own arm. then after stabbing it again and killing the fish, this 12′ shark came to check out the blood from shawn’s arm??? maybe….

baby divers would have called 911 for an ambulance and went to the hospital for stitches. crazy divers tape it up and jump right back in the water and worry about it later…. dive first, worry later… thanks kyle for the photos….

gosh, this past week has been paradise in hawaii. perfect winds, perfect waves, and perfect weather. the official start of summer starts today and it feels like it’s been summer from a month ago. this is where i was eating my lunch today. it was so nice that i didn’t want to leave….

this is stan. stan’s been surfing the park for a long time. haven’t seen him in years but he was surfing like he surfs everyday. ripping. look at this photo good and tell me if stan isn’t happy. that’s surfing. can’t get a smile like that in an office, that’s for sure….

good morning. 6am aloha friday. gosh, finally looks like the waves came down. waist/chest high at bowls with 18 guys out. 30 guys out at the park. looks a little morning sickness but like the other days, should get good around 10am or so. couldn’t get a good sleep last night because a little worried about my boat. left it in the ala wai harbor last night so i better go down and see if everything is alright. gotta go… have a nice day….

when ever the waves are good in town, there are lines of surfers coming and going. guys, girls, kids, and everybody you could imagine. see that building behind? i would love to get a lineup shot from the 3rd floor looking out into the waves. if somebody lives in that building, please let me borrow the key. i want to get a lineup shot, and use the pool and jacuzzi… haha…

last night, i went to snappers in waikiki to watch russ and ciara sing live. it was about 9pm when this surfer chick walks in with her surfboard. gosh, i thought i was in bali or something…

check out some action from big rights yesterday. this is nick mita. i got some pretty good photos of him and the other guys but sent it off to the mags. sorry can’t show you those but these are the ones that they probably won’t use. still pretty nice….

it’s amazing how many fans shuji kasuya has here in hawaii. everywhere i go, people ask me about him. sometimes i tell them that he’s my brother. haha… just joking…

ronnie yamada’s been surfing the park longer than anybody else out there. that’s why he gets the best waves. enough said….
