Risk and Reward

This morning was even darker than yesterday morning.  You can’t see the waves coming so you’re pretty much going by feel.  It’s very hard to surf in the dark but once you ride a wave, it feel incredible.

As it starts to get a little lighted,  you can start to recognize familiar faces.

Then Boot Camp begins.  Better catch the wave because I’m riding right behind you.

The morning colors are so beautiful.  Conditions too.

Nakahodo-san’s backside riding is getting better and better.

Round 2 was windy and wild!  There were only a few hard core surfers in the whole ocean but when you know how to search for the good waves, you will be rewarded.  It was amazing!

Surfer Boys Family

The cool thing about teaching kids how to surf is you get to see their real emotions.  The nervousness, the excitement, and the uncertain.  But once we get into the ocean, everything is always fine.

Aki-san on his first wave with the perfect style.

Jun-san smiling on each and every ride.

This was Tomo-san’s very first time surfing so I’m sure he was nervous.  But after a few waves, the nerves were gone.

Hattori-san is a good example for his kids.  If you see your Dad surfing really good, you’re going to want to surf really good too.

It’s been a long time since we surfed together so I was really happy to see Hattori-san surfing better than ever.

Got to do a ride along with Jun-san.  Pretty cool photo.

Thank you boys for a wonderful day of surfing!  Keep on surfing and keep on smiling!
