Open Ocean Challenge

Started off early this morning with the full moon shining.

Then we surfed the sunrise session.  Beautiful colors!

It got crowded really fast.  Although today was small, it was still the biggest day in a long time.  All the surfers are hungry for waves!

Afternoon session less people and better vibe.

We had the gallery on the top cheering on Nakahodo-san.  He wanted to challenge himself so he paddled out to the open ocean and waited for the biggest wave of the day.

And caught it!  Look how big the ocean is.  It’s very hard to paddle out there and find a wave to ride, but Nakahodo-san did it!

Nakahodo-san left Okinawa just before the typhoon hit.  This is crazy!

Body of Sand

It’s so cool to see all the high tech boats coming in and out of the harbor.  I wonder how much this one cost?

Millions huh?  By looking at the sponsors for this boat, it must be fast and expensive.

This one was cool too.  Something I’ve never seen before.

This catamaran has foils on it!!!  Cool!

Every moment you spend in the ocean, you will learn something new.  In this case, you will learn how to dive under powerful waves, you will learn how to get slammed into the shore break, and you will learn that when you go home and shower, you will find sand in every single part of your body.  Haha.
