Molokai to Oahu Foil Fever

Since the foilers division started on Molokai at 9:30am, I thought it would be perfect to show up at the finish line at 12pm to watch them starting to come in.  But when we got there, the foilers were already finished!!!  The 1st place wing foiler only took 1.5 hours to cross the channel.  That’s faster than my boat!!!  Kai Lenny won the SUP foil division and it took him 2.5 hours.

Still stoked to see a Japanese win his division.  This is the hardest paddle board race in the world.

We were cheering on the Japanese competitors.

Watching their faces when crossing the finish line says it all.  Total exhaustion and too tired to celebrate.

One of the spectators yelled at this competitor, “See you next year!”  his reply was “NEVER AGAIN!”  Haha.

This was the lady foiler winner.  Unbelievable.

Then we drove to the tip of Oahu and saw the competitors approaching the island.  Always happy to see a Japanese flag!

Ganbatte!!!  Ganbatte!!!

The foilers are taking over the race.  That was cool to see.  I respect everyone that finished this race.  And I also respect everyone that didn’t finish this race.  It’s brutal!

2023 M2O Ocean Knowledge

Wow, another beautiful picture perfect morning!  Super calm sea and good waves.

It was very uncrowded for a Sunday morning.  Where is everyone?

Another turtle popped up right next to us.  I thought it was the same one as yesterday but it wasn’t.

The waves were super good!  And no, this is not Bowls.  It’s better.

Another perfect day for this happy girl.  She’s feeling the stoke!

We went to the finish line of the Molokai to Oahu paddleboard race.  Right when we got there, Japanse Yusuke Hyogo was crossing the finish line.  He won his division making him the World Champion!  It took him 4 hours and 45 minutes, which is amazing!  Sugoi!!!

Then did an afternoon Boot Camp session.  This spot is very hard to surf but if you know where to wait, it’s pretty simple.  Ocean knowledge is very important here.
