Restroom Rail or Fail?

It’s taken a long 12 years to get the rail project to this point.  First, it’s way overdue.  Second, it’s way over budget.  And last, it’s not even going to go to Waikiki.  They started it from Kapolei and ran out of money so it won’t go to Waikiki anymore.  What’s the purpose?

Wouldn’t it have been better to start the construction from Waikiki and build it towards Kapolei?  Just connecting the airport to Waikiki would have been a lot better.  The rail is going to open this month and it will only operate from Kapolei to the Civic Center Station.  Where is that?  And will it even connect to Ala Moana sometime in the future?

Every time I passed by the construction for the past 12 years, I always thought to myself “They should have hired a Japanese company to build this.  Then it would be done in 2 years.  I’ve seen how the Japanese built infrastructure and this would have been very simple for them.”

And OMG, one thing they forgot to tell us was, “there are NO restrooms in any of the stations!!!  Where are you supposed to pee???”

June 13, 2023 Hawaii Surf Report

Every day beautiful mornings…

Good morning 3am.
Ala Moana waist high and good.
Diamond Head chest high and bumpy.
Trade winds at 20mph.
Sunny and warm.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

The Dachshund Paddle

It was a very clear morning.  Very low tide and a box jellyfish warning issued.

There were just a few on the beach so the risk was pretty low.  Even if it was high, we’d still go out.

A shorter board is harder to paddle but that wasn’t a problem at all.

A shorter board feels much better on the bottom turn.  It feels fast and alive!

Please don’t paddle like you normally do because the chances of you cutting your hand on the reef is high.  When the tide is low like this, you have to do short shallow paddles.  If you don’t know what that means, just pretend you’re a dachshund dog.  Haha.
