i haven’t seen Kataoka-san for a while. last time we surfed together he was a Principal at a school in Shikoku. now he’s retired but still teaching there. we did a Golden Week Boot Camp today and it was amazing! look at him go!
Kataoka-san is a reborn 60 year young man! i had a blast watching him charging the bigger sets today. so committed and so happy. 
Kataoka-san knows Seira-chan so when i taught her how to smile when she’s taking off, Kataoka-san said he wrote it on the nose of his surfboard so he can see it every time he paddles for a wave. if you can smile like this, you will definitely enjoy the ride…
and enjoying the ride like this is what surfing is all about. surfing is supposed to be fun so let’s make it fun! 
it was a great day with a wonderful man. we are both teachers and have so much passion to teach others. so yes, we connected very well.

after my round one surf, i went to look at Diamond Head. it was foilers paradise! so yeah, i had to go out and get a few before lunch…
then i went to surf this evening with Ai-san. omg, you wouldn’t believe what you guys missed out! 
i take this kinds of photos not because i love myself. well, i actually do love myself. haha. i take these photos because i’m learning about my foiling. and just by looking at this, i know that my new board is tilting much more into the wave than my other one. that means it’s more like rail to rail foiling. the more i tilt my board, the more speed i’m creating. and the more speed i’m creating, the more happy i am. yeah!!! Freedom!!!!
