some of the landscaping here is breathtaking! my brother Mason, Seth, and Kelia. just hanging out with the family… this is the hotel were Seth and Kelia were staying at. one of the nicest villas around… the bellman having a hard time with all the boards and bags. i’m glad i don’t have to do that anymore… i saw Rio Waida waxing up his board and getting ready for his heat in his WCT debut. it’s the first time an Indonesian got into a WCT so all eyes were on this young kid. half Japanese and half Balinese. i gave him a hug and say “good luck boy!” we Japanese have to support one other and being that Seth is half Japanese too, we’re all the same blood. Rio won his heat beating World Champion Gabriel Medina. great job kid! Wayan Picha. i will never forget this mans kindness to me the first time i went to Bali back in 1993. if it wasn’t for him, i wouldn’t have been able to go back to Bali ever again after that. so each time i go back, in my mind, i always thank Picha for backing me up like a brother… we took a stroll down to Kuta beach, had fresh coconuts, fresh corn, a cold beer, a happy talk, and watched the golden sunset. it was the most romantic time in my life i spent with these boys. haha…most places in Indonesia, you’re not supposed to flush down toilet paper in the toilet. so wipe your ass and put the tissue in the rubbish can. Please don’t spoil our day…
