i learned so much about fish since i was 16 years old. throughout the years, i’ve tried and eaten almost every kind of fish you can imagine. so puling up to a restaurant, i can look at fish, how it tastes, and also the value…back in the days, the Uhu on the right was my number 1 prized fish. and the palani on the left was last. but since my last trip to Bali in April, that totally changed. it’s the opposite now. the cheap stinky black fish that nobody eats in Hawaii is 10x more tastier than the prized expensive uhu.
so now when i hunt, i hunt differently. if i want to eat grilled fish, i will hunt these little black palani’s. much easier to catch, and much easier to prepare. it’s funny how traveling can teach an old man new things…
and some fresh clams is a great balance for the fish. so good…
