free diving is my life. it keeps me healthy, happy, and content. and to add to all that, it keeps me from starving. my first experience was when i was in high school. my friend Brad Higa took me to Sandy Beach and when i saw him spear a fish and grab a lobster, i thought that was the coolest thing in the world. so throughout the years, i tried to share that same experience to others. and when those others call me up and say “uncle, i got fish for you!”, i get so happy!
i literally forced the kids to clean their own fish! i stood by watching and observing. Joshua is the type to clean, filet, bag, and deliver fresh fish. Seth is the type to call you 5 days later and say “uncle, i got fish in the cooler if you want.” and no, it’s not cleaned, filet, or bagged. haha…
Joshua caught fish yesterday and on the way home, he called me to tell me he has some for me. all i had to do was cut it, dip it in shoyu/wasabi, and let it melt in my mouth.
thank you Joshua. i’m really proud of you not just for catching the fish, but for delivering it. i hope you can pass down your amazing way of giving to your little Nephews and Nieces. things like this bring tears so my eyes…
