we are surfers so the ocean decides our plans. one hour we’re thinking about going to the Japan Sea, the other hour we’re thinking about going to Chiba, and the next hour we’re thinking about going to Shonan. we also thought about going to Wakayama and Shikoku. things change so fast so unless you’re a surfer, you may never ever understand. here Toda-san and Matsu are checking the surf forecast, weather, and transportation. so at this moment, we decided to head to Shonan to foil, then back to Hawaii for me.
when i checked in at Haneda airport, nobody asked me for my vaccination card. that was weird because according to the Executive Order, nobody is allowed into the USA without a vaccination card. then when i arrived in Hawaii, nobody asked for it again. so i asked the Immigration Officer “don’t you need to check my vaccination card?” he said “no.” wow, i guess we’re fully open again.
right when i got home, the first thing i did was take a Covid test. i don’t want to have it and spread it to my family and friends. thankfully it was negative.
Tokura-san and Deco-san were surprised that i suddenly got a flight back to Hawaii. i was laughing because that’s something Tokura-san had taught me. everything he taught me made sense and that’s the way i travel. i learned from the best!
this was our last session at the secret river mouth. Takami-san flying by me as i got stuck in the current, lost my hat, and foiled like a beginner. the ocean will always be my sensei…
