i was watching the live video feed of pipeline yesterday afternoon and evening. it’s amazing where we are in technology as i sit in my living room watching the sunset setting in town and country simultaneously. this is pipeline, oahu. beautiful!!!!
ok, is this a mistake? or is this on purpose. somebody speared a baby hawaiian monk seal in the head. if caught, you will go to jail for a long time. these precious monk seals are protected and people are still eating them. sad.
6 months ago, i asked a guy to do some work on my boat. i paid him a lot of money to do a professional job because i was just too busy. instead, he did a amateur job on my baby. how? he didn’t sand before he fiberglassed the pvc pipe that holds my motor cables. after a few dives, the fiberglass peeled right off. i was pissed! look at this photo.
so what should i do? ask him to redo it? i don’t think so. why? because an amateur is an amateur. i was looking for a professional for the past few months but couldn’t trust anyone. then last week, i remembered i have a good friend that fixes my surfboards. Daisuke is the best surfboard repair guy i’ve ever met and fixes my boards all the time. i call him, he takes a look, and tells me, “i never fixed a boat before.” i told him “hey, if you can fix a surfboard, you can fix a boat.” yesterday morning on the way to work i drop off my boat. and on the way home in the evening, i pick it up. a perfect job by a perfect man. thank you Daisuke for fixing my baby. you have great talent!
