had a great time with Seigo-san and Erika-san yesterday morning. Seigo-san owns Marutaya ramen in wakayama, my most favorite in the world ramen! i’ve been trying to talk him into making his famous ramen here in hawaii. why? because if he does, i know for a fact it will be successful. anyway, since we don’t have great ramen here, i took them to my favorite ramen substitute, Pho at Bac Nam. healthy, refreshing, and great tasting! great surfing and hope you guys have a wonderful trip back to wakayama!
then round 2 with Team Ina. i still can’t believe Inaida-san just had surgery a week ago and is surfing better than ever. body’s looking fit, board looking stylish, and a smile after every single wave. a great healthy and successful life.
then round 3 i met my nephews down at the harbor. we went to play around on Uncle Robbie’s boat. i had such a great time watching Joshua and Seth transform into watermen. i can see them getting very comfortable in the ocean, except for the sharks! we went to free dive a sunken boat out at ala moana. i’ve been there over 20 times and i seen sharks there 20 times. the boys are so scared of sharks and i’m trying to teach them not to be afraid. so i dive down and see a shark in the hull of the boat, i come back up and tell Seth and his friend that i just seen a big fish in there. they looked at me “really?” i said “yeah, go down and take a closer look.” Seth’s friend dove down, seen the big shark, and freaked out. the 2 boys swam for the boat as i almost drowned laughing so hard in my snorkel. haha.
i can teach only what i know. the rest, these boys have to figure out on their own. but i am so happy that they are so interested in the same things as me. i can totally relate to their experiences and i can relive my childhood memories just like it was yesterday. most of the time i’m laughing at the kids because i remember myself being that pure and innocent. but not anymore. haha.
