i got to watch the mexican shootout on tv last night. made me remember a lot of things that happened on that trip. the most memorable thing was competing with the mexican team. they wanted to win the tournament so badly. we joked the whole time just having a super fun time. but when it came down to weighing my last fish on the last day to determine 1st from 2nd, they were nervous. look at them in the background on the right. haha. they ended up winning by a few pounds. if i get to go again this year, there is no way i’m giving them chance again. haha. what a great trip, a great experience, and a great way to enjoy life in this amazing world.
Davis ended up buying 27 bikes with donated money from friends. now 27 less children no longer have to walk 45 minutes in the hot sun to school. awesome!
this is Basil, probably the most famous cambodian kid in the world thanks to President Clinton. i was amazed watching this little kid riding this huge bike around the place. just super happy with a smile that can make your day.
and this was Basil when he was abandon on the streets at 3 months old. HIV positive and almost dead. thanks to the NHCC, Basil now can smile, Basil now can laugh, and Basil now can ride a bicycle. what an amazing story, and what an amazing kid.
between jobs i’m pretty much running around. i don’t have time anymore to hang out at the beach for hours like i use to. i surf, i get in my car, and i move to my next appointment or job. a super fast life but very satisfying. and to think that i never have a bad surf session anymore. every wave i enjoy like it’s my last.
well, the bad weather continues but i can see some sunshine on friday. smile!
