**i seen a lot of JPSA contests in my life but yesterday’s final was probably the best one ever. 4 different styles of surfers with 4 different styles of surfing….
gai sato got 4th. last year i seen this kid win a knee high contest in shonan. was i impressed? no. yesterday, everything changed. this kid was charging the hardest. he’s 13 years old and surfing like a champion. now, i’m impressed and so was everybody on the beach….
i think gai caught the biggest wave of the day and did 3 big turns. SOLID….
joe tanaka got 3rd. joe is following in his older brother izuki’s footsteps. izuki already has his JPSA grand champion belt. can joe get his?
