good evening. the waves on the north shore have been terrible. 20 years ago, i’d be frustrated and bummed out. now, i’m happier than ever. it gives me time to catch up on things like hanging out with friends, diving, and exploring new things. yesterday tony moniz introduced me to a 4 man canoe. since then, i couldn’t get my mind off it. do i know how to use one? no. but you know me, i’ll challenge anything. today, i got together with with some friends and went to see my new friend, mr. canoe….
today couldn’t have been a better day to test out my new hobby. the weather was picture perfect, the water was crystal clean, and you couldn’t have asked for more. after a few zigzag turns with the out of control canoe, i finally figured it out. give me 2 more sessions and i’m going to be catching waves with this thing….
anytime i go in the ocean, i remember to bring my mask and spear. why? because i just can’t resist catching dinner….
it’s tako season so that’s all i looked for. before i would see one, there was a 50/50 chance of me getting it out of the hole. but after learning how they like to play, my probability is now at 95%. this one had no chance…. tako poke time!
when the waves are junk, you can find me paddling canoe in waikiki. i people watch, dive, surf, and have fun. that’s what life is supposed to be all about….
