been spending so much time in the ocean that it was time to take the yamaha and head up to the mountains to get some cool winds. i have this spot i always stop at and take in the awesome view and sweet smells of nature. it’s probably the most soothing place on the island.
and to watch the sun set, and the moon rise is cool.
i use to see yachts like this and think to myself “wow, i wish i had one!” but nowadays, i look at these amazing yachts and think to myself “omg, no way i want one of these!” even if someone gave me this huge yacht for free, i couldn’t accept it. you ask why? because the cost of maintenance is way out of my league.
i’d say it cost over $10,000/month to maintain a yacht like this. and that doesn’t include taking it out for a ride. the owner told me that it costs over $5,000 to take it out just to diamond head. crazy!
here is my advice if you’re looking for a boat. keep it small, and keep it simple. and if are deciding about getting an old motor or new one, get a new one. better yet, get two. it’s not like a car where you can simply pull over and call a tow truck. a boat is a matter of your life. so don’t cut corners.
welcome to the only gas station for boats on the whole south shore of oahu. everybody who has a boat in the harbors has to drive all the way to sand island to fill up their tanks. luckily for me, it’s pretty close. i know people that have to drive their boats all the way from hawaii kai to fill gas. that sucks! but if you want to play, you need gas, and if you need gas, you have to go to Keehe Marine Center at sand island. there is no way around it.
yesterday was yet another perfect day in paradise. it’s funny because everyday’s been like this so every photo from each day looks the same. cool consistent paradise weather.
