mango season continues…
wasn’t my tree so i left it alone. but very very tempting.
went to my aunty’s funeral the other night. she was second generation japanese/american who lived 99 1/2 wonderful years. gosh, that’s almost a hundred years. amazing!
buddhism is really strong here in hawaii. the first and second generation of japanese americans were almost all buddhists. super cool culture that goes on for over a hundred years here in hawaii.
i saw this quote on the paper recognizing my late Aunty Agnus’ life.
“Love all whom you hold dear
Precious is the time you share
Do not wait for tomorrow
For tomorrow may not be.
this is coming from my aunty and her family. a quote i firmly believe in. for the past 10 years, i never waited for tomorrow, i live for today.
so going fishing yesterday wasn’t hard to decide. you go, you learn, you experience, and you cherish each and every moment. my ancestors all lived beautiful lives, they all worked extremely hard, and they passed on their culture on to me, a forth generation japanese/american. and i’m really proud of that! i cherish every moment with each breath and each minute. good bye Aunty Agnus.
