mission 3 trip was planned last minute. it’s a long story on how it
came together, a long story on why these people are here, and a long
story on what we did. i’ll get into it later when i can sit down and
recollect what happened. but the keyword for mission 3 is “Destiny.”
it was my 3rd time to tohoku and the people i met along the way feel
like family to me. we’ve heard all the stories about march 11th, we’ve
hurt, we’ve cried, but we’ve got to get past it. the people of tohoku
are moving forward and we have to support that. matsu took this photo
of this little community we’ve come attached to. if it wasn’t for an
elderly man standing by the fire to keep warm that one morning on
mission 1, this community, and others would have been passed by. i’ve
been to tohoku 3 times and stopped by here on the way in, and out on
each. we will go back, we will look forward, and we will keep on
supporting japan. so to the people of tohoku, keep moving forward, keep
thinking positive, and keep smiling. and to the people who made all
these missions possible, thank you again and again for touching all the
peoples lives you have. your donations has made a huge difference and
you should all be proud of yourselves. good things happen to good
people and your all good people. i’m so proud to be from hawaii, i’m so
proud to be japanese, and i’m so proud to be part of this! have a great
day.
by the way, KITV is airing “KOKORO: HEARTS ACROSS THE PACIFIC” on
channel 6 Friday(May 6th) night from 7-8pm. it’s a one hour special on
japan so don’t miss it. some of the people in this photo will probably
be in it.
