wow, today was tricky! weird unpredictable weather so i moved up the time to pick up Akane-san this morning. it turned out to be a great call because the waves were absolutely perfect in the morning. then right when we came in, the storm came. lucky! we got 3 hours of perfect waves and perfect surfing.
wanted to thank Maki-san for sending me these photos of Naoka and Yuki-chan’s wedding day. gosh, it was amazing! even the rain couldn’t stop the fun! so stoked to see my friends from japan flying over here for the special occasion.
Alyssa Wooten can always make me laugh and laugh. such an energetic girl.
this was our table. good food, good talk, and good friends.
Naoka asked me months ago if i could do a speech. i said no. the reason is because i don’t know how to do speeches in front of people. my legs shake, my heart pumps, and i feel like fainting. i had to go through that experience too many times in college so i told myself “never again.” anyway, i did the “kanpai” so it wasn’t that bad. all i had to say was “kanpai” right? anyway, if i were to do a speech, it would go like this: to Naoka and Yuki-chan, i am very happy to be a part of your special day. to see you both grow together into a perfect couple is fascinating. i wish you the best future ahead and hope all your dreams come true. your wedding was beautiful! Naoka, when it started raining hard during your wedding, you looked at me and asked “is it going to stop?” i said “no, this is the east side. i year ago, i told you to have your wedding in honolulu because it’s always sunny. but hey, i wasn’t surprised when i got your invitation and seen the address on the east side. haha. that’s just you. you are unique, you take chances, and you live and learn. honestly, that’s what i really like about you. but now, you have a beautiful wife. so please think before doing. don’t take as many chances as before because now it doesn’t only affect you, it affects your wife too. that said, i believe that you can make Yuki-chan happy, and i believe Yuki-chan can make you happy. so move forward into the future and never look back. congratulations to you both! and hey, i had no idea you both loved hawaii so much. that’s awesome!
and last, live and learn right? can i ask you how many times your car got towed in hawaii for illegal parking? live and learn! come on Naoka! haha.
