one of my 2017 new years resolutions was to spend more time in the ocean. not only spend more time, but to share this amazing part of my life with more people. so today was the 4th day in a row i entered the sea on the beautiful Mayuki. that makes it 11 days out of the first 16 days of the year so far. so far, so good!
heading out into the sunrise is so amazing. we seen 4 whales right outside waikiki. then seen lots of turtles, and even a monk seal while surfing.
the conditions were absolutely perfect again! perfect to surf, and perfect to dive!
and when you surf and dive, you will be a little tired on the way back in. haha. i told Aoi-kun today, “don’t you dare tell any of your friends where we went today!” then he asked me “why, was that a secret spot?” i told him “hey, if you can surf a perfect wave with nobody else out on a busy holiday here in hawaii, it’s a secret spot.”
then we had the most amazing lasagna special at the yacht club. the french chef makes this only once in 2 months. and on these special days, i try to make it down there. that’s how good it is!
it was really hard to watch former champion Hawaiian BJ Penn come out of retirement and fight last night. he is 38 years old and the guy he fought was only 24 years old in his prime. it was as ugly as it gets.
