on this trip, i’m getting so many ideas about food and restaurants. every single meal has been so amazing and it’s always been my dream to have a restaurant in hawaii. not to make money, but to make people happy. and on this very trip, i’m learning a lot about that dream. take this meal for example, you won’t find anything close to it in hawaii.

every prefecture in japan has it’s own specialties, saporro’s is this.

back in tokyo, an interesting thing happened to me. walking through this old fashioned house, i was thinking about one thing. “Pay it Forward.”

thinking about my grandparents. thinking about my life. and thinking about how i can help others. earlier before this, we were eating in the restaurant Niwa. as we were finishing up our meal, this generous man sitting on the table next to us paid for our bill. what? really? he just paid for it. and no, he didn’t have to, but he did. when i left, that was in my mind all day long. this is the very reason i fell in love with japan. yes, the food is good, the culture is amazing. but, the people are so kind and generous.

that being said, i decided to pay it forward. i’m going to go back to hawaii and do the same thing three times. it’s going to be to total strangers and i hope they can feel how i felt back in tokyo. because hey, it’s an awesome feeling to be feeling the way i did. and still feeling now. so want to thank that generous man for what he did.
