felt pretty good waking up in the city and looking out the hotel window. it was so beautiful! it actually felt like christmas!
jumped on the 3 hour bus ride from saporro to niseko. beautiful scenery all the way.
one guy surfing the knee high waves in the snow! that’s hardcore!
pulled up to Annupuri and headed to The Powder Company to gear up. Kimura-san and Takahashi-San ready to hit the mountain.
but first, Kimura-san needed a lesson. thank goodness Tomoki-san is a very patient teacher. and thank goodness Kimura-san was a great student.
i took video of Kimura-san’s first experience. i was laughing so much that i fell down in the snow laughing so hard. haha.
so stoked to see Kimura-san up on his own! pretty dam good for a grandpa.
then Takahashi-san and i took the lift up to the top of the mountain. we snowboarded through some trees and luckily i didn’t hit any of them.
i was a little rusty on my first run. but after this, i started to get the feel again and started to be a little reckless as usual. everybody told me to slow down, but that’s something i can’t do.
then we went up for the night session. omg, it was so beautiful!
taking the lift up the huge mountain was so beautiful. on my first run, i did a big carve on the mountain full speed and fell coming down right on my shoulder. i heard bones cracking from my neck to my ass. got back up, did the same thing, and fell again and bones cracking everywhere. better really slow down.
then we had a beautiful dinner in an amazing restaurant. thank you Kimura-san, Takahashi-san, Tokura-san, and Tomoki-san for the wonderful time today! and also thanks to all my friends i met up in the mountain. such a small world!
duck for dinner. ii kamo!
