for those of you who didn’t know, the waves at Ala Moana were super good yesterday. crowded in the morning but i paddled back out in the afternoon and hardly anybody was out. i asked my friend, “where is everybody?” he said “a parasail boat stopped in the channel just a few minutes ago and yelled “there is a huge black tiger shark right next to the boat. get out!” then he said everybody went in. i said “oh, good for us!”
i don’t like to scare people and tell them there are sharks because if there’s ocean, there are sharks. in every given day and every given minute, i guarantee you there is a tiger shark in the vicinity of Waikiki. and that will never change. anyway, Tomami-san, Mishimi-san, and i had a wonderful time to ourselves!
Mishima-san is a really good surfer. super solid body and super solid soul. this man loves to surf and it shows in his surfing!
Tomami-san is hooked too. thanks to Shikoku’s Kaori-chan, Tomami-san is well coached and also went on her first trip to Bali. so stoked for her!
Mishima-san caught set after set. the waves were so good!
and when the ride was about to be over, it’s time to celebrate! shakas from Mishima-san.
and more shakas from Tomami-san.
i had to do my shaka too because i felt left out. haha. not anymore.
thank you Mishima-san and Tomami-san for the wonderful afternoon surf session. you guys are awesome! see you again on monday!
