this lovely couple just got married yesterday and they spent their first day together in the ocean! that’s a great start to a wonderful marriage!
and it was so perfect! Takeda-san enjoying the wonderful views of Waikiki!
it was Kaoru-san’s first time surfing and she wasn’t sure if she could stand up. this was the paddle for her very first wave. looks pretty confident and happy to me.
and of course, she stood up and surfed perfectly all morning. she even caught a big wave from the outside!
Takeda-san wanted to surf bigger and bigger waves. so we started off small and ended up big. i couldn’t believe how good he was!
to paddle all the way to the outside and catch sets on your own is a huge accomplishment. takes some people years to do something like that, but not for Takeda-san.
yesterday the weather was absolutely gorgeous for their wedding. today, rain doesn’t matter if you’re surfing. they surely picked the perfect days for wedding and surfing.
i think Takeda-san was just as surprised as me to see his new wife surfing so well. absolutely amazing.
Takeda-san wanted bigger so bigger we went.
and super stoked to enjoy this wonderful day in paradise.

Takeda-san and Kaoru-san chose to walk back to their hotel which was a 3 minute walk. that was a good choice because i was stuck in the parking lot for 45 minutes trying to get out. the parade caused major traffic and my usual 15 minute drive home took an hour. but hey, i was so happy to have spent such a wonderful time in the ocean. thank you Fujii-san for sending the newlyweds my way! now there are 2 more stoked surfers in the world! yeah!
