The Hawaiian Movement

Micah told me that he’s going to Japan every year to snowboard. he had a great time and loved the food and snow. now he’s back in Hawaii doing what he loves most. we planned to meet at 4:30pm and everybody showed up on time. no Hawaiian time when it comes to foiling. haha.

it’s amazing that Tony shows up on time too. he’s foiling almost everyday and that isn’t changing anytime soon.

Carter is part Hawaiian and always showed up on time since we were kids. a rare kind of local. haha.

all we do it talk about foiling in the parking lot. we talk about how we want to improve on this day. making the most minor adjustments to our equipment which makes a huge difference in the water. then once we hit the water, we are cheering each other on and supporting each other to progress. it’s not about competing, it’s about working together to get better.

the Moniz family roots go back hundreds of years originating from Molokai. thousands of relatives spread out through this Hawaiian Island chain. this is what you call true Hawaiians.

when i seen Micah pull up in the car with Ha’a Aikau, i thought to myself “wow, another Hawaiian foiler to the team. this group of guys are getting bigger and stronger by the day.” can you imagine what the lineup looked like after this? anyway, we had a blast till dark!!!
