i was watching Seth’s heat this morning screaming in front of my computer. he had 2 big scores and was on his way to dominating the heat. i thought to myself “so nice!”
a couple minutes later, Seth took off and launched the biggest air i’ve ever seen! he went so high that most of his body was cut out of the tv screen.
and in mid-air, he did a full rotation! i thought no way he was going to make it.
then i saw him twist his body and spin all the way around.
and the freaking kid landed it!! and the judges gave him a perfect 10 points! i couldn’t believe it! then my phone starts ringing with calls and text messages. yeah, everybody saw it!
then the interview comes shortly after. i was laughing the whole way. so calm, and so cool!
i’m so proud of this kid. Joshua took all the limelight from winning the Volcom Pro, so that made Seth so pissed that he had the best video clip of the year last week, and now the second best video clip of the year today. and he ain’t done yet!
yeah, Seth beat 2 super competitors at their own game. and he also got the only perfect 10 of the contest, and also the highest total heat points in all the contest.
then Seth surfed again in round 5, and beat another favorite man on man. this interview was even more funny as Mathew Pitts asked him “why were you waiting so long for a wave?” i could Seth smirking thinking to himself “hey boy, i knew exactly what i was doing. i do that to my brothers all the time.” haha.
hey Seth, super proud of you again. that’s for representing the family and Hawaii with the upmost respect. have fun in Japan and please tell all my friends i said hello. see you in the quarter finals!
