Jeff Hubbard wins the 2011 IBA Pipeline Pro

*finally had the chance to catch up on news. most bad, but some good. check out what’s going on around the world…

a 58′ yacht, yeah, like the size of sansoucci2 got hijacked at sea. 2 married couples killed. yes, 4 americans killed by gun shots by somalia pirates. this kind of news hits me hard because my dream is to have a yacht and sail around the world. east africa was one of my destinations but i’ll have to think twice….

6.3M earthquake in new zealand. over 75 dead and 300 missing. it’s estimated to be a $12 billion loss for the country….

moving on to better news. the travel channel released the top 10 islands in the world. i didn’t even know this one existed and i’m going to find a way to get there….

and the best news in the world coming out of hawaii, i want to congratulate Jeff Hubbard for winning the 2011 IBA Pipeline Pro. his 3rd win at pipe which is a huge accomplishment. jeff is a really nice and humble guy. also part of the go-naminori official bloggers. congratulations jeff!!!

Hawaii Private Photo Sessions…..

hey, for all of you who didn’t know, we here at go-naminori do private photo sessions for both in hawaii and japan. come to hawaii and catch your dream wave? why not have the proof to show your friends back at home. i’ve been shooting private photo sessions once in a while and guess what you get out if it?

1. over 500 photos magazine quality.
2. photos both in and out of the water.
3. get to surf at the best spot for your level of surfing.
4. get an instant bodyguard if there is any trouble. haha.
5. get on my blog for thousands to see everyday. more viewers than a magazine.
6. priceless photos of surfing in your prime before you get old and fat. haha..

anyway, i did a private photo shoot yesterday and after i downloaded the 587 photos, i found a couple that are magazine quality. you will see it in a future magazine for sure. dreams come true? yes we make it happen!!!

pull up to the most localized and crowded surf spot on the island and surf it empty? Tokyo surfers Soichiro Kawabata, Tommy Sato, Nao Sasaki, and Tetsuo Kono got great waves in clean water, blue skies, and an uncrowded lineup. i don’t think they know how lucky they are…..

Tommy Sato caught the most waves. he was in the right place at the right time. nice bottom turn dude!!!

Nao Sasaki waited on the outside sitting right next to heavy local Ben Aipa. ben went first, Nao went second. good wave selection and great surfing ability….

Soichiro Kawabata came to hawaii a few years ago for a photo shoot. guess where i took him? Pipeline!!! yes, Banzai Pipeline. he got a couple of good waves and i don’t think he will ever forget that. today was a piece of cake for him. nice left Soichiro!!!

Tetsuo Kono got the award for most duck dives. i swear i seen him duck diving over 100 waves today. but he never gave up and i’m sure his arms are tired this morning. are they?

if i were in japan with my 3 hawaiian friends, a photo like this is a must. i call this a “keeper.” great surfing boys! see you next time in hawaii and guess where i’m taking you? yes, to the NORTH SHORE…..
