Cute means Kawaii….

good morning. 7 am on this wintery monday morning. 15′ stormy surf on the north shore. town is pretty much flat. i surfed near diamond head yesterday evening and it was small but fun. i guess it’s always fun when your the only guy out. OMG!! is it march already? this winter went by sooooo fast. i’m guessing that almost every traveling pro surfer has left hawaii by now so it’s local time. this is the time of year i like because when the waves get good, hardly anybody is around. so the next time the waves are going off, i’ll be out there with the boys…. but for today, work in the morning, and surf in the evening. have a nice day!!

from 8-11 am yesterday morning, there was this rainbow outside my window. it was so easy to sit on my computer and get work done….

my favorite part of any expo is the boat section. i was checking this one out. it’s a nice boat but a little too big to fit into my garage…

and a MSRP of $64,430 is a little too big for my budget. $6,443 would be nicer… haha..

and check out our weather for this week. junk waves and junk diving conditions. finally i get a week long vacation…..

and last. these kids look familiar? this is 8 years ago over on the east side of hawaii…

Poke #2

good evening. what a perfect day here in hawaii. windy, shitty waves, and cold!!! i love it. i finally got a chance to catch up on emails, work, and other things i have to get done before i start traveling. passport stuff, ticket stuff, boat stuff, surfboard stuff, diving stuff, and just a lot of stuff….

yesterday we had the tsunami warning so hardly anybody went to the expo. today was different. everybody went!!! wanted to thank russ inouye for doing a great job in putting that event together. that’s my favorite expo of the year…

they were having a poke tasting contest and i didn’t mind waiting in line if it took hours…

they had 3 different types of ahi poke.
1. mayonnaise/green onion style.
2. shoyu/tobiko style.
3. yuzu shoyu style.
i chose #2 because i like tobiko mixed with my poke. gosh, i just wished i had a beer to go along with that….

they were giving free bamboo fishing poles away to every kid that walked in. i told them i was 11 years old but they didn’t believe. anyway, if your down at the blaisdell, you know that there are a lot of papio’s right in the pond. i put bread on these girls poles and asked them to catch me a couple fish for dinner. lucky me!! haha.. just joking… everybody, no fishing allowed in the blaisdell… i use to do it in high school late at night until i got into trouble….
**and last. wanted to thank each and every one of you who sent me an email concerned about the tsunami yesterday. takeshi-san, michiko-san, hiro-san, sophie, masato-san, val, and everybody else!!! it feels pretty dam good have people care about you. thanks again and again and again. i really appreciate it!!!
