Dream Car and House….

good afternoon, the typhoon is getting nearer and it’s time to move. my boards, camera, spear, and mind is ready for this one. i can’t wait!!! oh, and wanted to say sorry to my friends from japan that’s going to hawaii for silver week. i tried to get a flight back and am on the waiting list with 140 other people. so i don’t think i will make it back in time. honto ni gomenasai.

last night, kimura-san took me to the best italian restaurant ever. it’s so crowded that you need to make reservations. the pizza, pasta, and red wine was awesome…..

then i pulled up with my porsche to kimura-san’s friends house after for another bottle of wine. takagi-san is an amazing architect that designed houses and restaurants in wakayama. his house was amazing. something i would love to live in. i wish i could take it back to hawaii with me….

go-naminori friends. thanks everybody for checking out my blog….
**well, i better get packing because i have big plans…. see you somewhere in japan!!!

Hey, That's my Fish!!!

good morning. i’m back!!! i’m feeling pretty good. my shoulder still isn’t 100% but my mind is. and what got me back into the positive mental stage was free diving yesterday….

all i need is good people around me, my surfboard, my spear, and the ocean. then my life is complete….

if i was stranded on a deserted island and had my diving gear, we would have sashimi parties all year round. and i would be bummed if somebody rescued us… haha…

where ever you go, you need a good dive partner. waka-san is my japanese diving partner. and when we pair up for a dive, we come back 2 happy people. waka-san is as local as a local fisherman can be. here he is opening our lunch…. a fresh oyster….

after we dive, we come in and rinse off. then by the time i change and get back into the house, the fresh catch is on the table. thanks so much atsuko-san for always cooking the best food and taking care of me. this lunch couldn’t have been any fresher…. oh, check out the ishidai nistuke with the ume inside the sauce. that’s wakayama style and i’m getting to love that style….
**diving resets my mind in a different way surfing does. with surfing, it’s you, the wave, and everybody else. with diving, it’s just you and the ocean. nobody’s yelling “hey, my fish or hey, get out of the way.” when i’m underwater, i’m at total peace. and you just can’t beat that feeling…..
