Smart Woman and Lucky Man

We’ve been doing some intense paddle racing and it’s paying off.  This girl can paddle fast and forever!

You can separate a beginner surfer from a good surfer by this one thing.  The bottom turn.  Beginners go straight, good surfers go sideways.

This girl use to be a beginner just a year ago.  But now, she’s an expert in doing turns like this.  Speed, power, and flow.  Any contest judge would love this…

Good to see the abundance of wildlife coming back to Hawaii.

Rikita-san texted me and said “look what Toshimi-san bought for me!”  Smart woman, and lucky man…

August 22, 2023 Hawaii Surf Report

Yesterday once more:  Eddie at Bowls.

Sunny and warm.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

Hawaii Transit Surfer

Forgot to post these photos from yesterday afternoon.  Went to surf with a very travel smart man that uses a free stopover in Hawaii just so he can surf.  He flies in, we surf, and he flies out.  All within a few hours.

We have a very limited time so the more waves he rides, the better rest he will have on his next flight.  Some travelers wait out their transits at the airport, but not this traveler.  This is how you maximize every minute!

Went to hang out in the evening at Kewalo’s with the family.

The Moniz family is getting bigger and bigger.  This is only 1/8th of the family.

Seth Moniz just got back from a long trip to Tahiti in the morning but made time to play with the kids in the afternoon.  Such a good Uncle!

Keahi Moniz and I share the same birthday.  He gets an e-bike and I get nothing.  Haha.

Fast forward to this morning and this is what Bowls looked like.  Epic waves and perfect conditions.

Finished surfing and went home to a rainbow.

Round 2 back to Boot Camp.  The girls are mastering Diamond Head!
