when i heard the news about Joshua’s injury in Portugal, my heart stopped. luckily i heard it from my sister and not from social media because reading a headline like this, i would freak out even more. Joshua caught a wave, hit the bottom, knocked out, broke his neck, and somehow woke himself up underwater. he couldn’t feel his legs so it was serious. got an emergency helicopter ride to the hospital. had surgery, and now is recovering. so for the past 5 days, i was heartbroken. all i was thinking about was my little nephew. thank goodness my sister flew over and is giving our family daily updates. my heart still aches but i know this will make Joshua even stronger. 
Joshua was always the cutest one of the Moniz kids. his hair, his eyes, his smile, and his dimples will make you melt. the whole world is behind him on his road to recovery. thank you to everyone that helped our reached out to Joshua. i’m sure he will thank you one by one from the bottom of his heart. can’t wait to see you back home Josh! i love you boy!
