Duke Kahanamoku’s birthday just passed so the whole world is remembering him. it was his dream to have surfing in the Olympics. and everybody is sure the Duke would be super proud that a Hawaiian won the Gold Medal. his dream did come true…
this is an old photo of the Duke on his boat he use to keep at the Waikiki Yacht Club. i had chicken skin when i saw it because it was the first time i saw a photo of him actually on it. i look at his boat every day and think how cool it would be to have met such a great ambassador to Hawaii.
i am very grateful to be able to be parked right next to the legendary Duke Kahanamoku’s boat. my friends freak out when i tell them that’s the Duke’s boat. i wonder if he took his friends out on surf trips with it? yeah, guarantee he did!
