Friends of the Sea

i surfed Bowls this morning.  super fun on the shortboard but still far from normal.  i need to practice more!   then i went for round 2 but instead, i foiled.  felt much better flying…

i see this boat filled with beautiful people pass by.  come to find out, it was my friend Donald and his family.  super cool time talking story in the middle of the sea…

Donald had neck surgery so he’s been out of the water for a year.  just 2 more months and he’ll be on the foil again.  he actually wanted to try my board on one wave but i told him “no.”  i said “if you weren’t my friend, i would let you.”  but you are my friend and i care about you so “no means no.”

Small, Windy, and Nobody out…

right before sunrise, the sky starts to turn into all kinds of colors.

and this is my favorite time because sometimes is pink, and sometimes it purple.

this time, it was both pink and purple.

when i was far out to sea yesterday, the conditions were like glass.  i checked my gas gauge and there was only 1/4 left.  awww shucks!!!  if there was a full tank, i probably would have kept on going out and drove around Molokai for the day.  so now i’m going to fill up my tank and be ready each and every day because you just never know when that day will come…

Naosan went to check the waves at Kamakura yesterday and saw a foiler.

that was Matsu!  haha.  then she texted me “it was small, windy, and nobody out.”  i texted her back “that sounds like me.”  haha.  gosh, i can’t wait to go on a foiling trip with my friends!!!
