i’ve been trying to go to Bali since June.  as each month passes by, it looks even more and more impossible.  next try is next month and by the way things are happening in this world, it sure doesn’t look promising.  Mike Woo sent me this photo of the empty streets of Kuta.  unbelievable…and to see this Japanese tanker the ran aground off the coast of Mauritius was shocking.  all that black oil killing the the pristine reef and surrounding wildlife.  it’s carrying 4000 tons of fuel and now the ship broke in half.  omg…finally, the government released the 4th angle of the police body camera during the George Floyd killing.  i don’t know how these bystanders could watch it live.  i had a very hard time watching it on tv.  omg…in Hawaii, we don’t have violent protests.  there are just idiots running on the streets doing stupid stuff recently.  i don’t even want to go out at night anymore.  20 years ago when a friend told me this world was going to get crazy, he wasn’t joking.  here we are!

went to check up on Mayuki today.  luckily i have a pass to get into Ala Moana Beach Park.  absolutely nobody in the park!  it feels so weird to be driving in the middle of peak Summer to an empty park.  it’s probably the first Summer since WWII since this happened.  it’s kind of eire…i heard there will be a ban of all ocean activities in the next lockdown.  and i’m pretty sure it’s coming soon.  so i took my baby out for a ride, maybe the last ride in a long time…the best maintenance for a boat is to use the boat.  if it sits for a long period of time, something will break.  so i took her out and went full throttle!  it felt so good!then i noticed Bowls was super empty and the waves were super good!  so i had to go out for an hour and foil until i was totally satisfied.  it was such a beautiful day to be in the ocean!
