found this photo of Nakahodo-san on my desktop. getting barreled right before the Hawaii Lockdown! he left Hawaii right in time!
the Moniz family is growing and there will be many more little ones to follow…
6am: early morning at Bowls. the sun is just about to peak over Diamond Head.
6am: meanwhile, the sun is already up at Diamond Head making for epic photos like this.
in a month from now, i’ll stand at this same spot and take a photo. expect the craziness back…
with the 14 day quarantine law still in effect, tourist are getting arrested for breaking it. the police are enforcing the law, and the locals are on watch. if you get caught, you will go to jail. and if some angry local sees you break the law, he might beat you up. and i won’t blame him. and i won’t help you either. so yeah, tourists please don’t come to Hawaii yet. just wait a little while longer…

Good morning 5am.
Ala Moana waist high and perfect.
Diamond Head chest high and bumpy.
Trade winds at 20mph.
Sunny and warm.
Going to exercise.
Have a wonderful day!
Slow Opening but Fast Pace…
was on the road all day today and couldn’t believe how many cars were out! today Macy’s opened, some other stores on the island, and i heard the restaurants will reopen on June 5th. that is good news but i’m not looking forward to the traffic again.
i went to foil Bowls on the high tide and it was super good! long rides, lots of exercise, and heavy wipeouts. haha. look how many people were in the water! this is way more crowded than a normal day before the coronavirus…
then drove to Ala Moana park and it was packed! no parking and so much traffic!!! so yeah, Hawaii is slowly reopening but please remember to be safe.
found this in my locker at the Yacht Club. going to make some margaritas with it!
