April 26, 2020 Hawaii Surf Report

Another Peaceful day…

Good morning 4:45am.

North shore waist high and little bumpy.

Ala Moana knee high and clean.

Diamond Head chest high and bumpy.

Trade winds at 25mph.

Sun, showers, and rainbows.

Exercise morning and Netflix afternoon.

Have a wonderful day!

Freedom Dive and No Sitting!!!

since the parks reopened today, i thought i’d take a bike ride and check things out.  pulled into Ala Moana Park and it was packed!  no parking and people everywhere!!!

good to see so many people exercising…

ok everybody, the law is there is absolutely NO SITTING on the beach!!!  you can only exercise, walk, or swim.  why doesn’t everybody get it???  i saw so many people sitting on the beach and even seen sunbathers.

the police were out enforcing the law.  that was good to see because if the police aren’t there, nobody would follow the rules.  so sad to see people being so careless.

the 2 police walk up to the sunbathers and say “you’re not supposed to be sitting on the beach!”  if i was the police, i would have kicked sand all over them.  and that’s the reason why i can’t be a police officer.  haha.  but hey, i don’t watch the news and i don’t have social media so if a person like me knows the rules, you should too!  NO SITTING ON THE BEACH!  and if people still do that, i can see the government closing the beaches again.  omg…

passed by Diamond Head this evening and it was so beautiful!

i woke up early this morning and when i saw how small and crowded the surf was, i decided to go exercise somewhere else.  there is no comparison to surfing a knee high crowded wave than this.   my heart was pumping.  FREEDOM!

A Thousand Waves…

when Seira-chan spent 45 days here in Hawaii, i would always tell her to catch as many waves as possible.  so she would average 20-30 waves per session.  and now that the government officially closed ALL beaches in Japan, i’m sure she was glad to ride a thousand waves in Hawaii this past Spring…Masae-san sent me these photos from Kamakura.  yes, surfing is banned there too…to all my friends in Japan, please follow the rules.  don’t make surfers have a bad image at a time like this.  the ocean will aways be there…thank you Masae-san for the photos.  i’m glad you’re staying at home and making beautiful puzzles like this… i’ve been trying all different kinds of boards and foils.  trying them on different waves and staying away from the crowds.  it’s pretty fun riding Kelia’s magic longboard one day, then flying on my foil the other.   ok, i’ve been checking the waves everyday for my whole life.  i’ve seen crazy things but nothing as crazy as this.  this is Rockpiles!!!  it’s been like this everyday and i’m kind of shocked.  it’s worst than Waikiki!  it’s getting out of control and i don’t understand why everybody wants to surf at the same spot everyday.  come on guys, spread out!
