Poi and Closures…

want to thank Shin for the fresh pounded poi!  omg, it was excellent!!!this street in Waikiki is usually lined up with people, cars, taxi’s, and tour busses.  not anymore…and the Hilton Lagoon is usually filled with hundreds of tourists everyday.  not anymore…and look at the usually packed Waikiki Beach.  not anymore.  in fact, you will get arrested if you hang out at the beach now.  lot’s of people are complaining, but this is the reason the coronavirus cases are finally going down.  come June, i predict thousands of people back on this beach.  so let’s be a little more patient…there are food banks set up in every state.  this is Florida and Hawaii is pretty similar.  hundreds of people waiting hours and hours just to get food.  yes, this is real…

I Love Sukiyaki!

UPDATE:  ok, as of yesterday, now all the beaches are closed.  thanks to idiots that hang out on the beach and break the rules.  we can still surf, but i’m not sure how long that will last.  with lineups with hundreds of surfers, we shall see.  they also banned more than 2 people on boats.  and if you’re on a boat, you have to be 6′ apart.  so that disqualifies all boats under 21′. luckily Mayuki is 23′ so we can still surf and dive.  everyday things are changing and i’ll keep you updated.  but as for now, i still advise everybody to exercise and go home.  if we all abide by the rules, this situation will be over much sooner than later…

wow, check out this video of Japanese artists singing Sukiyaki.  that’s one of my all time favorite songs and everybody in Hawaii knows it.  so may as well enjoy it!  something to make us happy in times like this.
