OK Aloha Eggs?

thank you Costco for changing your rules.  it’s pretty sad for people to panic, buy everything, and then return it when it’s all done.  this is the part of America i don’t like at all…i was at Shima’s Supermarket and couldn’t believe how some of the shelves are empty.  i hope they don’t let people return things too…now this is scary!  gun shops in America are selling out of ammunition.  gun sales are up and everybody is loading up on bullets.  what is that telling you?  yeah, scary…went to the coolest local shop to buy some fresh eggs.  it was my first time and not my last.  i just loved it!egg supply is very low now.  so most supermarkets are limiting it to buying one dozen.  but when i went to this local shop, the lady said i could buy as many as i wanted to.  these eggs last for 45 days in the refrigerator and can be eaten raw for 15 days.  yeah!!! i bought a few trays of fresh eggs and she gave me a whole tray for free!  i asked her why?  she said “it’s a present.”  omg, i felt the instant “Aloha!”  i know that local shops are struggling and the reason i went there is to support local businesses.  and in the end, they showed me some aloha i haven’t seen in a long time.  during hard times like we’re dealing with now, the aloha lives on.  Hawaii is becoming Hawaii again.  i love it!

from now on, go buy your eggs from OK Poultry in Waimanalo!

Surf, Surf, and Kole…

nobody is on the beach, but thousands are in the water.  surfed Bowls this morning and was trying my best to stay away from people.  i kept on moving away and when it got too crowded, i just went in.  ended up catching about 15 waves but it’s kind of scary watching everybody surfing so close to each other.  i don’t think people really understand what’s going on…then i get home and my friend texted me “want to surf?”  i said YES!  we go to our secret spot and when i paddled out, i seen somebody so familiar.  Seth Moniz!  yeah, i was so stoked to surf with him and his boys for a couple of hours.  the waves were super fun and not too many guys out.  that made my day!ok, i’m going to try to catch dinner 2x a week.  this lockdown makes me want to live a simple life off the land and sea…this is called “kole” and is the best fish to pan fry.  a little salt/pepper/flour, and oil.  so simple and so delicious…i can eat this every single day!  going back out to get more…
