February 18, 2020 Hawaii Surf Report

Last nights GREEN FLASH!  It was so beautiful!!!

Good morning 5:10am.

North shore 2-3′ and bumpy.

Ala Moana chest high and clean.

Diamond Head head high and super bumpy.

Trade winds at 25mph.

Sun, clouds, showers, and huge rainbows.

Going dawn patrol.

Have a wonderful day!

Feeling so BEAUTIFUL and HIGH!

had a great time this morning surfing with Seira-chan and Renta-kun.  it’s good for them to surf together because they push each other to get better both in surfing and also English.  same dreams…

i saw someone taking off on the left so i intentionally told Seira-chan to go right!  this was on purpose because i wanted to test her reaction.  look at her eyes and she is looking exactly where she supposed to.  and in the distance, she could see the guy coming left at her.

then instead of looking straight at him and crashing, she simply kept cool and turned the other way.  so perfect!

and now that she changed direction, she had the whole wave to herself.

so why not just do the Kelia Moniz cross step.  Renta-kun was watching her surfing today and all he said was, “BEAUTIFUL.”

Renta-kun has been struggling because he just started short boarding.  but after watching Seira-chan surf so good, he tried extra hard.  and this was the result!  Renta-kun told me he never wants to long board anymore.  he’s having too much fun on the shortboard.  haha.

i just love this kid…

it’s amazing how a single wave can make you so happy like this.  so stoked for this kid…

i finally had the chance to take out my new Aipa twin fin.  on my very first wave, i knew it was magic!  Seira-chan and Renta-kun think they are the happiest people in the world?  sorry guys, i am!  haha…

then went to take Mateus out for a few waves.  he’s been asking me for a while now so today was finally the day.  we had so much fun…

North Chinese in Hawaii

i was at my friends condo and seen a guy swaying back and forth on the 29th floor!!!  omg!   window cleaners make a lot of money here in Hawaii.  it’s a dangerous job but even if somebody paid me a million dollars a day, i would never do it.   yes, i’m still afraid of heights.  i’d rather surf a 100′ wave…i let Seira-chan ride my high performance long board yesterday so she was going twice as fast.  and surfing twice as good.winter in a bikini continues…once again, very impressed how Tanaka-san can look at photos, image train, and apply it on a wave.  that’s talent…since i’m not going to China or Korea anytime soon, i’ll have to settle for Chinese or Korea in Hawaii. sweet sour deep fried pork is my favorite!  you won’t find a better one than this.and the spicy seafood soup is amazing.  not as spicy as it looks, but just enough…after lunch, nobody wanted to eat shave ice.  but i knew that Waiola Shave Ice will make the day a happy ending.  and yeah, it was a very happy ending!
