so happy to see Namikoshi-san back in Hawaii. such a wonderful man that loves to surf! today we were enjoying very long rides from every angle.
this one from behind with the nicest morning view…
Namikoshi-san caught 13 waves that he rode perfectly. by far, our best day of Boot Camp!
Thank you for the long rides and longer smiles. see you tomorrow…
when i look back 15 years, this is what us boys were doing. got together with my high school classmates and headed to Bali. it was just the the boys enjoying surf, culture, food, and lots of Bintangs.
Carter and i were the first ones up every morning getting our first session done at sunrise.
this was one of my favorite turns. loved it back then, and love it right now. i’m going to do one of these tomorrow morning! haha…

during every event, all of us has a job to do. my sister Tammy is there to be a Mom. Tony is there to be a Dad. Rainos is there to be the Coach. My brother Mason and I are there to be the Uncles. we are a team, full of love, and full of support. that’s exactly what Seth loves…
and Mateus has been coming out to support his Uncle Seth. next generation coming…
when ever i’m at a contest, it’s my job to make sure the backup boards are ready. make sure it’s waxed, make sure the fins are secure, and make sure the leash is attached properly. i always double check because this can make or break a competitor of they need an equipment change.
so this is how Seth leaves his backup board on the beach. a knot? really? of course he doesn’t see this because he’s full focused on the waves. haha. but don’t worry Seth, i see it…
when Seth is focused, this kid is fearless.
and when Seth loses even in the final, he’s not very happy. this kid is only a rookie and it hurts so much when he’s not #1. that’s the fire i love in him. don’t worry Seth, your time will come…
Mateus and Nala @ Volcom Pro…
