November 30, 2019 Snow Report

Good morning from Hawaii.  Yesterday I passed by Mt. Fuji.  Fresh and beautiful white snow.  It was so beautiful!  Now I’m back in Hawaii and going surfing.  Have a nice day and see you in the water!

Dine Japan: Reservations Only

just walking around looking at the lights is cool.  endless streets of endless lights…

i’m a yakitori lover.  i love trying new things and new places.  raw chicken is my favorite appetizer and i always start off with this…

there is a super nice yakitori restaurant that only has 6 counter seats and takes reservations only.  it has to be one of the most top quality yakitori places in Japan.

shiitake mushroom with shoyu and butter.  it was rich and juicy…

after 6 or so dishes came out, the chef presented sherbet.  i thought it was dessert but it was only to clean the palate for the main course…

main course:  he said the one with the bone was from a male chicken, and the one without the bone was female chicken.

i took one bite of the female and it was so juicy!  and there was an egg inside!!!  i’ve never eaten something like this before.

only 6 lucky people can make reservations for the 6pm 2 hour course meal.  then they kick you out and the next 6 people come in at 8pm.  so only 12 lucky people a day get to eat here.  and i was one of  the lucky ones.  and i will definitely be going back there again…

Scary: Someone’s Watching me…

i don’t know if you want to call it jet lag?  but i’ve been sleeping and waking up at all weird times.  i don’t care just so long as i can see the sunrise from the Land of the Rising Sun!  this early morning wake up call…after i got up, checked some messages and planned out my day.  Takami-san sent me this photo of Mt. Fuji.  i was so happy to see this photo because it always reminds me of my Grandparents.   it’s snowing Grandma!walked out in the 7 degree C weather and couldn’t believe how cold it was.  stopped by my favorite breakfast restaurant in the whole world!at only $6, i would eat this everyday in Hawaii…i walked back to my hotel and just happened to look down a side street.  something looked different.  strange?  out of the ordinary?  so i take a better look and OMG!!!!i could see Mt. Fuji!!!!  it was all white capped just like the photo Takami-san sent me.  i felt the power, i felt the happiness, and i even got a chill to my bone.  i felt like my Grandparents were watching me.  and i also felt like Takami-san was watching me.  scary!  haha…  i stood there for 10 minutes in just awe.  it was a beautiful moment which made this trip well worth it…
