it’s been a while since i went ramen hunting in Japan. i pulled up to this street with 10 or so ramen shops. ummm.. it was early so not too many people around. i walked up and down and looked inside and out. i looked like a detective or maybe even a stalker! haha. finally, i thought to myself, “this is the one!”
so i went in, ordered, and when this ramen came in front of me, my mouth started to salivate. just by the looks and smell, i knew it was going to be good! i ended up eating and drinking and licking the bowl. it was the best i’ve had in years…
then when i left, i saw a line outside. that’s when i knew i made the right choice!
did some shopping too. i wish we had a furniture shop like this in Hawaii. small, cozy, and simple. i love it…
i text Matsu to see if he was around the area. and he happened to be 10 minutes away from where i was. so we had tea, caught up, laughed, and planned 2 trips for 2020. so much we can get done in 45 minutes…
was planning to fly out of Narita but the flights started to fill up. so i simply jumped on a train and flew out of Kansai. took me 4 hours to get there and i barely made it in time for my flight. whew….
i could have either took an airplane to Kansai, or the Shinkansen. i chose the Shinkansen just for this reason. i really wanted to be close and feel Mt. Fuji. and this day was one of the best days of the year to do that. i actually waved out of the train when i passed by Toda-san’s house. i wonder if he saw me?
the 2 days in Japan were probably the coldest 2 days of the year. i was completely frozen!
in the train, i saw something shinny under my seat. omg, 100 yen!!!
i picked it up and what??? it was a 100 Indonesian Rupiah coin! what are the odds of finding something like this in a Japanese train??? i think it’s a sign! the universe is telling me to go to Indonesia again!!! ummmm, maybe i’ll go next week!!!
**by the way, some people told me that my Japanese blog has been acting weird recently. yes it has. and also my email system has been down for the past 10 days. so if you emailed me to surf, i didn’t get it. please try again. and if you have trouble reading my Japanese blog, try click on the link below for my English blog. then read it everyday and your English will be perfect like mine! haha. anyway, i’ll let you know when my Japanese blog is working fine again. thanks…

Yesterday Evening: The Cross Step back to Hawaii…
i’m so happy to be back home. i only was gone for 2 days but i’m fully reset, and fully ready to get wet. this evening the waves were so good!!!
picked up Renta-kun and had a blast! super strong kid that’s loving his Hawaiian lifestyle…
his friends call him the Japanese Monster. the reason is because he’s strong, and good in everything he does. i felt his legs today and it was like a rock! and he’s only getting bigger and more confident…
i always tell Renta-kun not to look at me but he always does. and i don’t mind it at all. haha.
good surfer, good smile, and good young man…
just from being away from the ocean for 2 days, i really missed it. i just love this feeling of looking down the barrel. so peaceful, and enjoyable…
when i was at the airport, i saw this group of girls getting briefed by their teacher. he said “when you girls go to Hawaii, please be careful. i thought that was pretty sad because i’d never thought this day would come where Hawaii becomes this dangerous. sad, but this is the reality. so yes girls, don’t leave your hotel with your nice watches, jewelry, or designer bags. you are just asking for trouble. leave your hotel with a t-shirt and slippers and nothing will happen to you. simple…
