Before iPhone Zero

before the iPhone even came out, i was carrying my big DSLR camera everywhere i went.  in the water, i would capture shots like this.  i always wanted to show people the amazing world i live in…

and i would capture shots of athletes too.  mostly Japanese because i always wanted to promote Japan and their beautiful people that give it their all…

and sometimes, i would see something pretty funny.  it would be hard to imagine a girl sticking a Budweiser beer can in her bikini after she drank it in one sip.  but yeah, photos don’t lie.  this is classic…

every morning, i have 2 choices when i head to the beach.  one is to hop on the freeway, or the other is to take the back roads all the way there.  and when i take the back road like this, i pass the freeway thinking “omg, good choice!”

went to play with the Moniz babies.  omg, they’re so cute!!!

i picked up Keiahi Moniz for the first time in a while and guess what?  he gave me the biggest smile ever!   it’s actually the first time he smiled at me.   i was so happy!!!   can’t wait for his first birthday party because we will celebrate it together!

Next Trip: The Castle

Ishikawa-san sent me this photo of us boys hanging out.  so good to see you again!  what i’m doing right now is starting a project at my house.  finally i have some time to make improvements… once again, i never went to school for any of this.  i learned it by watching my Grandpa Osaki since i was a child.  and to think he built my house and now i’m taking care of it is amazing.  thanks for all your teachings Grandpa! check out this Grandpa building his future.  if you don’t have a boat in Indonesia, you can’t fish.  i went to visit this remote little village on a tiny island and got to experience the traditional culture.  simple and amazing… and Grandma was taking care of baby.  these village people live the most simple of lives and seem to be very happy.  i hope no iPhones make it there anytime soon… and as i was thinking about where my next trip will be, i got a text from Yoshiko-san.  she sent me this beautiful photo in Kyoto and now i just decided to go to Japan next.  it’s crazy how a photo can inspire me so quickly.  haha…
