i asked this guy where he got his 1963 Beetle from. and he told me he bought it in California for $900! what a deal!
seen something new at the Yacht Club. this boat looked very familiar!
omg, a Japanese fisherman boat! i’m guessing this boat drifted to Oahu from Japan because of the Tsunami? then somebody found it and restored it?
i can’t read Japanese but if you’re a Japanese fisherman and missing your boat, here it is!
when someone asks me to teach them how to foil, i hesitate. the reason is i know how hard it is and i know how it’s going to break you mentally. so you have to be strong, committed, and never give up. Fujiki-san was ready for the challenge…
since it was Fujiki-san’s very first time tow surfing, we started off with a normal surfboard. and he got up and surfed it well! not only does he have me as a coach, he has Toda-san too!
then it was foil time and this is normal. haha. Toda-san and i love watching this because we know how it feels. i don’t care how long you surfed or how good you are, this will happen to you all!
but i can respect people that take this challenge because it’s the most challenging thing you will probably ever do in your life. and once you figure it out, your life will never be the same. hey Fujiki-san, let’s go try again on Monday!
and thank you Fujiki-san for the treats!
OMG, Mateus is going to be the happiest boy in the world when he sees his present from Fujiki-san!

Evening session rainbow…
when we pulled up to Bowls, i told Nanami-san that the waves were just a little bigger than yesterday. well, i lied. it was much bigger than yesterday so i was wondering how she even made it out? haha.. but she did 3x!
welcome to my Boot Camp! Nancy is from Boston and it’s her first time to Hawaii so i’m ready to show her what surfing in Hawaii is all about. today was a great introduction day! look how big this wave is!
Gavin always so cool and so calm…
look how beautiful it was today! clean perfect rides…
seen the school of “Omilu” swimming by these past few days. i really want to eat one of these!
Seira-chan is really connecting to the ocean. surfing good waves and seeing turtles, dolphins, and even a Hawaiian monk seal. good eyes girl!
i didn’t even tell her but i handed her a board she never seen before. and she adjusted to it pretty easily…
today was just a little introduction day. tomorrow will be yelling, screaming, and more Boot Camp. get ready girl!
seems like our group is getting bigger and bigger. gosh, this is so amazing to surf all at once with everybody! see you guys again tomorrow!
then it was time this evening to get serious. a day of high risks and learning about yourself. hey Fujiki-san, welcome to the new world of Foiling!
Toda-san and Takami-san are the biggest supporters. they have decades of experience in surfing and traveling so they can pass their knowledge to my students. just another perspective that will teach the next generations to come…
